About Smoobu

Smoobu (www.smoobu.com) is a fast-growing startup company operating in the vacation rental business and a 100% subsidiary of HomeToGo. Currently, our software helps hosts to manage over 70,000 properties in more than 135 countries. Smoobu’s approach is to make the rental business more profitable and efficient for our users. Your future contribution
As Entrepreneur in Residence you will work directly with the senior management team, and report to the Managing Director. You will drive important projects ranging from operational excellence to organizational development or commercial product launches, driving our organizational growth. With this, you will be involved in the strategic development of our company by taking full responsibility for your own set of key initiates. The main initiatives will be focused on helping us scale commercially and as an organization. In the best case, the position allows for a fast-track transition into a future leadership position at Smoobu.
How you’ll add value
  • Work closely with the Managing Director to drive (both own and shared) key initiatives that enable growth and scale across the organization
  • Be in constant exchange with our Managing Director about strategic issues, current challenges and future projects and attend relevant meetings to learn how a business is run 
  • Define organizational changes for Smoobu that drive our growth whilst simultaneously ensuring lean scalability as a tech company 
  • Support and drive the recruiting process of key roles for the company as we are constantly growing
  • Improve our business in every way by tackling challenges of different sizes in a hands-on manner (from small tasks to managing larger medium-term projects across different work areas).
You’ll be successful in this role if you
  • You have excellent communication skills - you can adapt to your counterparts; this allows you to move things forward in a highly collaborative way
  • You have 2 years of demonstrable experience in a Start-Up, Scale-Up or Management Consulting, a big plus if it in a SaaS / software business
  • Basic project management skills: experience with the ability to work independently and initiate activities, prioritize and manage multiple projects at once and deliver results on-time
  • You have proven analytical and organizational skills and are able to work and prioritize efficiently
  • You are eager to learn, approach new tasks & projects with an open mind and take challenges as an opportunity to grow personally and professionally
  • You have excellent communication skills - that you can adapt to your counterparts; thus allowing you to move things forward in a highly collaborative way
  • You speak English fluently, speaking German is a big plus
