Your future contribution

As a group, we are now entering the next growth stage of continuously driving success as a leading world class operating system in the vacation rental sector. To pursue this mission, we are expanding our business to incorporate Small Partner Solutions (SPSs). Through Small Partner Solutions we develop activities and solutions for private homeowners and small businesses. This will allow us to provide additional inventory for travelers and further complement our current marketplace activities.

As our Principal Strategic Planning & Controlling SPS (Small Partner Solutions), you will be responsible for our centralized SPS strategic planning & controlling function- leading a small team of direct reports and collaborating with the finance & business teams of our SPS businesses. You will oversee and harmonize strategic & financial business planning across SPS and liaise with HomeToGo Corporate Controlling on budgeting, forecasting and reporting. Like a spider in the web, you will know how business plans and activities across our businesses come together and drive financial results.

Taking strategic planning & controlling to the next level, you will be a sparring partner to our SPS business leads helping them identify business opportunities, and, at times, support them with your team to identify key initiatives. With your collaborative, supportive approach, your analytic mindset and your strong business acumen, you will successfully collaborate with our  business leads.

Lastly, you will identify synergies across our SPS business, advance our SPS business strategy together with our Director Small Partner Solutions, and ensure synergies & strategic initiatives are incorporated into our business plans and roadmaps. Driving a weekly performance management process and a monthly Objectives and Key Results (OKR) review with each of our SPS businesses, you will ultimately serve as the right hand to our Director Small Partner Solutions in identifying and driving  our long-term goals.

How you’ll add value
  • Support the Director SPS in defining our joint SPS business objectives, and drive the process to translate joint SPS objectives into our SPS business strategies & roadmaps
  • Oversee annual budgeting & quarterly forecasting across our SPS businesses to ensure strategic objectives and business roadmaps are translated into financial plans
  • On a weekly and monthly basis, support the Director Small Partner Solutions in monitoring business performance against plans, leaning on & liaising with our SPS business teams
  • Liaise with Group Controlling throughout the budgeting & forecasting processes as well as on an adhoc basis to support with detailed insight into our SPS businesses & finances
  • Build up new planning, reporting & monitoring procedures to bring our SPS general management to the next level - as well as ensuring we hit our financial targets
  • Drive key strategic initiatives with an analytic leaning that allow us to hit our financial results, e.g., around pricing, ranking and inventory analytics
  • Manage two operational FP&A direct reports responsible for our fully integrated SPS businesses, collaborate with the local FP&A teams of non-integrated SPS businesses, and thus lead our SPS financial community
You’ll be successful in this role if you
  • Have minimum 5 years of relevant work experience in FP&A and/or strategic business planning and controlling; an additional background in strategic management consulting is a strong plus
  • Have worked in both established and young companies (scale-up/grown-up)
  • Built a strategy & planning experience in the online travel industry or in SaaS business
  • Have a proven track record of collaborating effectively with highly diverse stakeholders
  • Have strong experience in leading “indirectly”, e.g., project manager experience
  • Are curious & open to new challenges, interested in taking a strategic planning role far beyond the boundaries of making business plans and monitoring their delivery
  • Are structured, results oriented, pragmatic, with a great ability to cut through complexity
  • Can operate and keep calm in highly agile environments
  • Are analytical at heart - but with strong emotional intelligence and high creativity
  • Are fluent in English and have business proficiency in German.
