Your future contribution
As a Senior Operations Engineer, you’ll be a part of a passionate and hard-working team and take ownership of IT operations and infrastructure enhancement. Day to day we manage mission-critical infrastructure, ensuring we stay stable, secure and efficient. It is our role to collaborate with other teams, understand their specifics and provide solutions to deploy and operate their code in different environments. Furthermore, we have the responsibility of not only delivering new features, but also planning and testing every possible scenario of disaster recovery, so if you think you are capable of quickly planning and putting broken things back together - let’s talk! The ideal candidate will be extremely reliable and have an excellent level of systems and technical knowledge backed up by hands-on experience.
How you’ll add value

  • Create and continuously improve a set of modules ensuring that key services (PHP, Nginx, ElasticSearch, Maria DB) are managed by an Automation First approach

  • Ensure that our automation process is based on the best IT security practices

  • Analyze monitoring data to find inefficiencies and bottlenecks

  • Continuously improve speed, efficiency and scalability of our infrastructure (500+ servers and growing)

  • Be able to identify the pain points and areas for improvement to contribute to the team’s technical roadmap

  • Mentor other team members, working closely with the Team Lead in contributing to our team goals

  • Communicate and align within and across IT Support, Cloud and Security teams

You’ll be successful in this role if you

  • Are experienced in Systems Administration and Network infrastructure

  • Have excellent knowledge of Linux/Unix and key services that make the web work (Nginx, Elasticsearch, MariaDB, Redis, etc.)

  • Understand the main networking protocols and concepts (HTTP, TLS, load balancing/failover and other TCP/IP concepts)

  • Know the key performance monitoring metrics of various services 

  • Are experienced in working with automation tools (Puppet, Ansible, Chef, Saltstack, CFEngine etc.)

  • Have experience running the large-scale infrastructure

  • Understand the IT security concepts

  • Possess scripting skills (Ruby, Python, Bash etc.)

  • Have solid communication and leadership skills

  • Are fluent in English
